In October 2021, we were lucky enough to join one of Savouring Bath's regular 'Food Heroes' food and drink tours The mix of surprising facts and history about local food heroes and the delight of sampling delicacies at seven amazing local eateries was brilliant!
From speciality coffee and locally-produced cheeses to historical buns and tasty artisan breads, we walked away after a packed morning with a full mind and a full belly. Food Heroes was 3 hours of absolute joy!
Savouring Bath Director and tour guide extraordinaire Mike James was so engaging, knowledgeable and passionate. His super-organised style was appreciated by everyone in the tour group, the size of which is limited to retain the tours' intimacy.
Communication beforehand was flawless and the half-day itself was so much fun. Part of the joy and delight we experienced was not knowing where the gastronomic tour would take us next - and we've chosen not to ruin any surprises so will neither disclose the route we took nor the local producers we visited. Suffice to say each and every one was brilliant - and the map to take home was a great memento and record of our route.
We cannot recommend Mike highly enough for visitors and locals alike for this unique way to experience Bath’s thriving food scene.
