Following Gold at the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards in November, The Apartment, Bath has now been recognised regionally at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2019/20.
From nearly 800 entries across the South West of England, The Apartment, Bath scooped the Bronze Award for New Tourism Business of the Year at this year's regional awards in Exeter. Sponsored by St Austell Brewery, the flagship event brought together leading accommodation providers, restaurants, visitor attractions and other tourism businesses from across the region for a glitzy awards ceremony in the magnificent Exeter Cathedral.
The New Tourism Business Award presented to Claire and Adam Powell by Exeter Chiefs front row and Australian international Greg Holmes and former Chiefs back rower, Kai Horstmann. They were joined on stage by Gareth Allen, Managing Director of category sponsor Soundview
and host for the evening, local associate solicitor at Stephens Scown, Thomas Chartres-Moore
The Awards had a rigorous judging process featuring an independent panel of industry professionals undertaking site visits, mystery shopping and face-to-face interviews - ensuring a level of scrutiny not seen in many other awards.
In making the award, the judges said:
For a tourist coming to Bath who wants the freedom of self-catering but nice and close to the main sights of the City - The Apartment, Bath offers a quality place to stay with more than the average service levels of most apartments. Adam has developed this offering to be completely customer-focused so that all the little things in the apartment are exactly right.”
And it was a successful night for tourism business across Bath, with multiple wins for The Roman Baths & Pump Rooms, Assemble Rooms, Bath, Lucknam Park, Menu Gordon Jones, The Olive Tree and more! Congratulations to all the winners and organisers for a tremendous evening and celebration of the vibrant visitor economy across the South West of England!
