The Apartment, Bath has won the Gold New Tourism Business Award at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards 2019/20 and was Commended in the category for Self Catering Accommodation of the Year.
The awards were announced earlier this week (Thursday 21 November 2019) by BBC Bristol's Laura Rawlings and her co-host, award-winning wildlife cameraman, Doug Allan at a prestigious dinner at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre.
The New Tourism Business Award sponsored by Exmoor Distillery recognises "high performing new tourism businesses, demonstrating excellent understanding of their market, exceeding the expectations of their customers with clear plans for future development" whilst the Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year is awarded to "self catering accommodation businesses providing truly memorable guest experiences and demonstrating excellence across every aspect of the business".
The rigorous judging process for the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards featured a independent panel of industry professionals undertaking site visits, mystery shopping and face-to-face interviews - ensuring a level of scrutiny not seen in many other awards. Adam Powell, owner and manager of The Apartment, Bath said:

This year's event coincided with the Bath Live and Bath Chronicle Business Awards 2019 taking place in Bath, in which The Apartment, Bath was also a finalist in the competitive 'Leisure and Tourism Business of the Year'. It was a privilege to be shortlisted and to be represented alongside such brilliant fellow finalists
Eligible winners from the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards will be entered into corresponding categories of the South West Tourism Awards, which will be announced on Thursday 6 February 2020 at Exeter Cathedral. Winners from the South West awards will then be selected to represent the region in the national VisitEngland Awards, which will be announced in June 2020.
