This weekend sees the start of a brand new Bath-based detective drama series McDonald & Dodds on ITV, at 8pm on Sunday 1 March 2020.
Set in modern-day Bath, the series pairs the wildly ambitious DCI McDonald, played by Tala Gouveia (Cold Feet) with the shy, modest DS Dodds played by Jason Watkins (The Crown, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, W1A, Nativity!). While McDonald has transferred from the mean streets of South London to leap up the career ladder, Dodds has happily languished on the shelf for most of his working life - with Bath the backdrop for their crime-fighting partnership.
Filming took place in and around the city over several weeks in Autumn 2019 and on 30 September 2019 the locations happened to include Komedia and Westgate Street - right next to where we were enjoying a Rugby World Cup 2019 match between Scotland and Samoa.
After catching a number of takes through the window, we were delighted when Jason Watkins (pictured here with Apartment Bath co-owner Adam Powell) kindly accepted our request of a photo between scenes.
Below you'll see a couple of clips we shot of the series' stars walking round the corner directly outside Irish Pub, Flan O'Briens and towards to Komedia - but first, the extras:

Look out for locations all over the city including Alexandra Park, Lansdown Crescent, The Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey as well as one of the main locations - Crowe Hall in our neighbourhood Widcombe - less than 500m from our front door!
The feature-length first episode airs on Sunday 1 March 2020 (8pm-10pm), entitled 'The Fall of The House of Crockett'. When a homeless man is shot in the deserted mansion of one of Bath’s most prominent industrialists, the inventor Max Crockett, newly arrived Londoner DCI McDonald and long-serving DS Dodds rally together to try and discover the killer. Faced with evasive suspects and a seemingly inexplicable crime, they quickly learn that not all is as it seems in the House of Crockett.
